So easy to use!

Despite the cost, I always use TurboTax. I like the easy transfer of last year's information, step-by-step process, and professional help on stand by if I needed it.
What's great about it: Love the step by step process, professional error and audit checks.
What's not so great: The price seems high for something you have to buy every year. It should be a simple annual update for the software.

So easy, a cave-man could use it!

I use turbotax every year because I know I can depend on it to be easy and to guide me through all the tough questions and numbers. Saves me money on a CPA and I'm positive everything will be correct with no errors. Love it.
What's great about it: Easy to understand; quick and reliable
What's not so great: Some concepts difficult to understand

Filing with ease

I rely on Turbo-tax to be the one-stop shop to complete my taxes. Perhaps I didn't look deep enough in the software for an explanation as to why my federal refund was reduced significantly when I entered my 1099-q. Had to research IRS pub's to learn some of the education credits are offset when using the 529 plans.
Other than that, I am very happy with the software and will continue to use it every year.
What's great about it: Ease of use, year to tear. I've tried all the others, and will never stray from turbo-tax again.
What's not so great: The interview method didn't prompt me to enter 1099-q. Had to backtrack manually but was easy to add this form.

My turbo tax review

Overall it was nice to be able to take things at my own pace, take breaks, get more info, and return to finish everything. Still very frustrating at times due to tax lingo. I was asked at times if I qualified for certain topics, but I had no understanding of what those topics to know if I needed to file them or not. Still felt like some of it was guess work. Thanks for the help though. See you next year.
What's great about it: I was able to break it up and save bits at a time. It helped break up each topic/subject to help me understand each step
What's not so great: Hard to understand technical tax lingo. Asked about certain topics I had no understanding of to know if I qualified

The strongest statement I can make is that I've been using Turbo Tax every year since 2000. I use the Deluxe version. Step by step instructions remove any guess work and remind you of deductions you may otherwise forget. It remembers your information from year to year and shows a comparison to last years deductions and taxes. The link to "It's Deductible" is a very useful tool for determining the value of non-cash donations.

Not taxing with TurboTax

Working on taxes for 2012 was not taxing with TurboTax software. Self-paced format allows for research of tax documents while "bookmarking" and continuing where last left.
What's great about it: Self-paced Tax preperation
What's not so great: Vague details on some tax items

Wonder review

I liked the step by step of turbo Tax and the great way it walks you through everything when you want to. It also anticipates what is needed and does suggestions. I DO NOT like that during detail it start back at the top every single time causing the person to go down the page to get to the next section.
What's great about it: Walked through every detail making it and eazy review and to review.
What's not so great: Does not go back to end of worksheet when doing easy guide, starts at top causing me to schroll down every single time.
