Got A Refund

Overall the system is good. The tax form entry of items flows well with information pop ups. However, if you have a specific question there is a community of people with questions BUT what I want is an answer from a tax expert . Please work on that for next year. Thanks

What's not so great: Q&A support is not user friendly. Need Tax Expert Answer.

Quick and Simple !

Great and simple software which anyone can use. Choose Deluxe if you have receipts saved up to itemize deductions. Otherwise, go with basic.
What's great about it: Really quick and simple.
What's not so great: Cant find any cons
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax looks for all of the possible deductions and questions about the information in case something is missed. Very helpful in gaining a larger refund.
What's great about it: Helpful tips during the process.
What's not so great: None.

What's not so great: Was unable to use older copies to create correct 1040X given changes to Adoption Tax Credit.

State tax withholding amounts

Turbo tax showed a substantial state refund when it should have been an amount owed. Checked what I entered and discovered that the state withholding amount was wrong. Corrected it. State still showed a substantial refund.
What's great about it: transfer of information from last year
What's not so great: Correction to withholding amount did not work for state

nothing short of perfection

From reviewing and importing previous tax information for this year to quick reference explanations, this was the most user friendly version yet. I found that editing data from previous version to current data a very simple task. the guide through deductions very simple to navigate, and the review to filing of return process gives confidence in using turbotax for yet another year.
What's great about it: worked well with previous versions, using prior information

Great refund

I would like to see for next year a better connection tab to get to the state return.
I did not see the tab at first and when I clicked on start state, it took me to where I was asked to purchase a state.
That was a lot more visible and accessable than the very small GREY tab at the top left corner. I had to get assistance from your staff to point out where the LITTLE GREY box was. So next year you need to make the Grey box either a bright color or bigger - or better yet - BOTH.
What's great about it: Very good detail in the questions
What's not so great: I had trouble getting into my state tax return
