2012 Taxes

Good for the automatic calculations, guidance for finding deductions, format for donation deductions and college deductions. Overall convenient but could be simpler to get in and out of.
What's great about it: Convenience, calculations, and guidance
What's not so great: Confusing on what charges will be for Turbotax.

Fantastic filing!

It was worth buying the turbotax product. Allowed me to finish my taxes in a little over an hour. Quick and easy to use and it was fun being able to see where and what was giving me my returns.
What's great about it: First time doing taxes, made it incredibly easy and stress free
What's not so great: Slightly confusing with terminology I was unaware of.

I have stock partnerships that send complicated K-1 forms to report income. I have managed to do this with t-tax even when one form requires information entered into two different places.
The state filing is a snap.
What's great about it: Walked me through K-1 parternership forms
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Had trouble this year with program

I have used TurboTax for several years now with no problems with the program, but had several problems this year with the program. Went to save my return part way through and the program froze up. But before that, on every page none of the blue highlighted 'buttons' worked--I mean none of them and needed help several times. It was very frustrating! After restarting my Mac PowerBook I lost quite a bit of work, but finally got it finished after much frustration of trying to correct things at the end when it notified me of 'fixes' need. Not a pleasant experience this year.
What's not so great: This year program froze on my Mac and none of the highlighted blue help buttons worked throughout the whole program.

I have been using Turbo Tax for over twenty years for my personal business and individual taxes. I believe whom ever technically checked the software was a tax expert. I believe this is the worst turbo tax so far for a regular tax payer. Explanation or examples should be easier to click on or skip. I have many years under my belt of filing out these forms, I believe they made them harder. I don't have anything to compare it to, but I believe books might be easier next year.
What's great about it: Colorful
What's not so great: Not user friendly.
