Deductions and Incomes and Taxes OH MY!

Turbo tax is easy to maneuver through. As i found documents I was able to move back and forth and enter the information easily in the appropriate area. Loved the way the program would "look" at my return and decide or find what would be the best way for me to file. Being able to file multiple returns was very beneficial for my family. My family was however, very disappointed when they found out there was such a substantial fee for the "convenience" of filing with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Simplicity in movement through program
What's not so great: "Suprise" prossessing fee.

Lots of questions on exemptions of interest from state or federal income taxes. The software should recognize the income and determine on its own.
What's great about it: entering info
What's not so great: difficult questions instead of importing info
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Simplicity

I like how the software steps me through the tax return process. I have been using it for years. The feds and states must like TT because my refunds come back quickly. I also like how it pulls boilerplate info from last years return. I have been using it for years. My return is relatively simple, but because we do the long form every year, we do not qualify for the free program, so I think its a little pricey for our needs, but I have no choice.
What's great about it: Like the simple straight forward process that TT takes me through.
What's not so great: Maybe a little pricey for a relatively simple return like ours

Always Faithful

Excellent program. My wife used to do all the tax returns using this program and when we divorced I thought it would be too difficult to use. But I was able to do it very easy.
What's great about it: User friendly, frequently saves return, uses past tax info
What's not so great: No cons. I haven't had to test it on any complicated returns yet.

Form 5695 input for solar credit not available?

I was extremely disappointed that the Turbo Tax Deluxe had such a glaring error were the step by step guidance did not provide for input of the solar credits. This was true as late as April 7th! Days before filing. A fix was not put out till April 10th. Very unfortunate. I was knowledgeable enough to access the Form 5695 directly to make my input but this shook my faith in the product. This is an errors are there that could have cost me and my family real money.
What's great about it: Product is easy to use and it brings over inputs from prior years
What's not so great: Errors in the step by step guidance can cost users real money

Better than the rest, just like having a tax professional in your home.
What's great about it: Very user-friendly & accurant.
What's not so great: Haven't found any cons within the 8 years using software

First review after several years of use

I have used TurboTax the last couple years. I use to use the HR Block software and was happy with it. However thought I feel the HR B software is more intuitive out of the box, I really like the knobs TurboTax has for fine tuning. I use all the wizards the first round and then go through manually a couple more. This is always a learning experience.
What's great about it: Relatively inexpensive, easy to use,
What's not so great: One has to pay to efile state
Pros: I had a baby
