All good in the end

Had a few glitches in the system. Had to repeat sections such as education and repeat again to insure that they showed up on my state returns. took about 2 hours longer than it should have but was able to finalize it in the end. Would have liked more explanations as we went along.
It was smoother in previous years. also my audit meter showed incorrect information, that was weird. It does not like it when information gets changed.

Old reliable and easier way to file tax

This does the job very well.
It does not seem to understand that we can pay for 2 yr in vehicle registration and keeps prompting until zero is entered. Hmmm...

Filing taxes for dummies!

Filing taxes is never a pleasant task. The major work is gathering all the information. Taking the info to a tax service never made sense to me to pay someone to put numbers in the correct boxes. Turbo Tax while not making the task pleasant, at least makes it understandable and efficient. It is money well spent. Thank you.
What's great about it: Focused and easily understandable method for filing taxes.
What's not so great: Nothing to report.

Turbo-The-Tax

Turbo Tax is good 'bang for the buck' tax software. I have tried CPA/Firms and find that for the amount of upfront work I need to do #and cost#, Turbo Tax is the way to go. I like that I have almost 10 years for Turbo Tax filings at my finger tips for quick reference.
What's great about it: Strait forward walkthru: Step by step
What's not so great: Personnel adivse based on my individual situation

Buggy

2011 import worked but wasn't prompted to do so.
Changing from non-standard to standard state sales tax deduction did not update value in step by step process. Going to forms showed the correct number.
It had a problem with 1099-DIV State box 12. My 1099 was blank and TT would not accept that. Finally after many tries I found on the web to enter XX. I think that after several attempts at audit and finding a problem the software should realize the problem and offer a solution.
What's great about it: Similar to last years. Familiar at least.
What's not so great: Buggy No appearent way to get out of constant loop backs.

Turbo Tax saved me money and it saved my children money....I not only did my taxes but my children were aable to do theirs too!!!!, I love the convenience of being able to do part of it and then logging back on and you start right where you left off.
What's great about it: I love being able to start it and then go back later to wrap it up and to be able to just pick up where I left off.
