I had a feeling I would owe money this year and didn't want to pay for a tax man and pay the taxes also. Haven't had to pay for many years. It makes me feel confident to know I did it all myself! My situation is not too complicated but had half as much in mortgage interest this year. I will be adjusting my payroll deduction to compensate to at least be even next year! Have been doing my taxes on Turbo Tax for about 6 years now, it has always been easily prepared and sent!
What's great about it: Step by step
What's not so great: Had to asked a few questions

End of Procrastination to do taxes

For years this was always a huge mental block.
I have been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years now, but functionality has improved to a point where all past info/PIN codes for filing/Error review are all easy and quick.

Great Refund Year

I really liked the way it gave me step-by-step instructions for each section of my return. It explained everything in plain English so I could understand and know what I needed to enter. I was able to maximize my refund which is always a good thing.
What's great about it: Step-by-Step Instructions
What's not so great: Did not have any.

Easy for Anyone to Use

I am was very intimidated to do this but this turned out to be easy. Very happy with the process and completing my taxes on my own this year.
What's great about it: Sequential process, easy to follow
What's not so great: None

Filing your taxes can be fun!

I like filling in boxes, and I especially appreciated how if an item was not understood initially there was always a quick and easy way to gain access to more information. It appears that Turbo Tax makes sense of all the myriad of details the Federal and State Govt. continues to heap on the tax payer every year.
What's great about it: I like how you can choose to go through items manually or Turbo Tax asks you
What's not so great: Not sure why I have to pay to e-file my State Tax when I have already paid for the Turbo Tax program?

I have used TurboTax to do my taxes since the late 80's/early 90's. I have tried other products an always come back to TurboTax!
What's great about it: walks you through it
What's not so great: Hard to find info on per diem for truck drivers
