LOVE MY TURBO TAX

It really just doesn't get easier. You enter numbers off all your received forms and turbo tax does the rest. Fifth year in a row I've used this program and have no plans on changing anything in the future.

Easy refund

I love the ease of use. It let's me know when something is incorrect. Love that I can e file so easily from home and no Post Office visits. I love the automatic info loaded from last years filing and also the comparison from last years taxes right in front of me.

I was so nervous because this was my first time doing my own taxes at age 47. I have always paid out the nose and I was so anxious to even start. What a great process. You have made it a no brainer!!!

Response seemed slower this year, but overall very satisfied.

OVERRIDE

IF THERE ARE ERRORS ON THE RETURN RELATING TO OVERRIDE, THE DIRECTIONS TELL YOU TO CANCEL OVERRIDE FROM THE EDIT MENU. IT TOOK ME QUITE A WHILE TO REALIZE A CHECK IN FRONT OF OVERRIDE = CANCEL OVERRIDE. THIS IS A CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS. I FOUND IT CONFUSING AND VERY TIME CONSUMING.
What's not so great: I COULD NOT BRING UP "CANCEL OVERRIDE" FROM THE EDIT MENU.

Easy Street with one pothole

For purposes of review, the Outline form became a growing list that could be tabbed marginally to the left or at the beginning with supra-category titles. It was annoying to have to "thumb" through all of the comprehensive outline and subcategories everytime I knew I needed to review a specific item or category....
The annoyance grows as the outline and information entered grow.....And my returns were really simple compared to what many other clients may have. Otherwise, thanks for making my filing experience relatively painless....so far....Now we'll see whether Uncle Sam is just as agreeable.

Turbo Tax

Good program but would like the refund expected dates to be part of the system again.
What's great about it: Fairly straight forward and step by step is easy to follow
What's not so great: No longer tracks when your refunds can be expected as earlier versions did
Pros: I bought or sold investments

1040 Long Form Simple Enough

The foreign Tax only shows up on my 1099 Dividend and Interest form. Since this form was read as an electronic import from one of the brokerage firms I did not know that I even paid a foreign tax until Turbo Tax started asking questions about Foreign taxes. The questions were confusing and I was not sure how to answer, however it looks like Turbo Tax could see that that the foreign tax amount was so little that the selection could me made automatically.
What's great about it: Most of the 1040 long form was easy to navigate
What's not so great: Foreign Tax questions were confusing.
