I have been using TT for over 20 years, except for 2007, when I got a free TaxCut in the mail. Big mistake. I like everything about TurboTax except you do not get answers to questions without calling.
What's great about it: easy to follow
What's not so great: questions are not answered

Very logical. Very thorough i.e. covers all bases. No need to know or understand the required calculations. They are all done in the background.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Can't think of any yet!

Bombed the efile

I've used turbotax for 10 years plus but this year when I tried to efile it got rejected multiple times. Turbo tax did not give a clear explanation just a generic help screen.
Super frustrated this year. Paid for the efile and was unable to use it.
What's great about it: I'm used to the format
What's not so great: Tried to efile and was rejected. No clear reason why.

I've been using turbo tax for years and always have great results. it's so easy to use, walks you right through. i never worry about getting it right or leaving something out. tt does all the work for me. and direct deposit is the way to go. very convenient and safe. thank you tt

TurboTax handles simple tax returns quickly and easily and provides added features for those purchasing a deluxe or premium version of the software product.
I like TurboTax's ability to import data, which can cut down on data entry. However, TurboTax can import W-2s and 1099s only from participating employers and financial institutions. TurboTax Online also lets you import some data from other websites like, Mint and ItsDeductible (both are owned by Intuit).
TurboTax's step-by-step interview questions were usually clear, appropriate, and not too overwhelming. TurboTax does ask a lot of questions before you get to data entry screen, which can make navigating through the interview modules somewhat time-consuming if you are trying to just revise a specific input. For major tax issues, such as picking the right filing status or figuring out if you can claim a dependent, TurboTax offers EasyGuides to go through all the details.
The Premier version of TurboTax adds additional guidance for investments, such as figuring out cost basis for stocks and reporting for stock options and employee stock purchases. If you need to set up business assets, TurboTax offers a step-by-step approach to depreciation.
I prepared a fairly straightforward tax return with one W-2, one dependents, and various tax credits. Using TurboTax Free Edition took me slightly longer than using TaxCut or TaxACT, but I also went through several of the Guide Me interviews (which were not provided in the other two software programs). So even though TurboTax took me longer to finish my return, I feel the tax preparation process was more thorough.

Easy As Ever

I have used turbotax for two years now and it seems to give me a great deduction without the hours of stress and paperwork shuffling. I will continue to use it because it always works out every option to get me the most money back!
What's great about it: Simple, Quick, and Easy
What's not so great: A little confusing when it comes to deductions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
