What!!!

1. Rejecting income entry for interest and dividend exemption income, yet somewhere in the program it was already there.
2. Determing whether my state retirement pension is considered an RMD or not ("Not common"). After finally contacting my retirement system, they said that it was not an RMD but had no idea why the program noted that it was NOT a common option.
3. I am not sure whether a "Product tax" from our oil/gas royalties were entered anyhwere.

TurboTax has been my go to way of filing for that last 3 yrs and i dont plan to go anywhere else. Its always quick and efficient, and thankfully easy and understandable.

Good - had just one issue

Overall had a good experience and saved time vs. doing taxes by hand. The only thing for me which was not a time saver was that no on-screen calculations were provided to explain the 2011 state refund amount TurboTax pulled in to adjust my 2012 income (it did not match the 2011 state refund I received, and state did not provide me w/ form regarding 2011 refund). TurboTax alluded these amounts could be different. I figure if they could program for it, they should be able to show it on the user interface. I wound up figuring it out on my own, but it took some time.
What's great about it: Easily incorporated last year's tax numbers
What's not so great: No detail provided on difference bet. 2011 state refund given and amount pulled in to adjust 2012 income

As a handicapped senior citizen I finf TurboTax easy to use and understand, I believe I have been using this program for in excess of 5 years.

Indispensible

I was seeing if I could deduct my wife's mileage in the Federal portion. Then after going back and checking 'no' for mileage expenses in the employment expenses section, the state of California portion kept asking me to provide a date that she put her vehicle into service. Choosing 'changed federal return' didn't help. I had to close, then re-open the program, then go through the employment deductions portion of the federal return, then choose 'changed federal return' before it would work.
Also: What about a place for lotto losses? What about a place for mileage to medical appointments and to charity locations?

Great Program

I have used your program since I first used it on the original Macintosh (macintax, I think.) It has improved every year and this year is the best. Thank you for a wonderful program for the uncomputer person.
What's great about it: Very clean program, anticipating my needs.

I love the product and have been using it for years now.
However, I have to admit there are sections in it I am not sure if I am entering in enough information when it comes to tax deductions.
But overall I feel confident the product works and is safe to use.

What's great about it: You can see instantly if you are filling things in at the end or if a correction is needed.
What's not so great: It can still be confusing to figure out since I am not an accountant.
