Review of TurboTax Delux

This is the first year I had a sale of stock to deal with on my taxes. TurboTax made it really easy - I was able to upload everything from the brokerage house directly into TurboTax and didn't need to worry about entering anything incorrectly. Huge relief not to mention peace of mind!
What's great about it: Ease of entering stock info
What's not so great: Nothing!

I like that previous years are pulled into the current year. It makes things so much faster and easier not having to look up previous information.
What's great about it: Federal is always accurate and suggests things I would have missed
What's not so great: State is not always accurate but is improving

I would recommend Turbo Tax to my friends (and have recommended in the past). Turbo Tax makes doing taxes so much more bearable because it's easy to use and walks you through all the parts of the tax return and deductions.
What's great about it: I like Turbo Tax because it walks me through all areas necessary to complete my taxes.

fast and easy

no doubt I'll be doing this again next year...now that I know how easy it is....I'll wait till 4/14/14
What's great about it: first timer-should have done it long ago
What's not so great: canceling out of "preview" a little hard
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbotax 2012

Only confusion I had with Deluxe 2012 was in the income section, retirement account distributions, inputting the 1099-R information. Wasn't given an option as to the type of distribution (believe it was an annuity) and it wasn't clear that I correctly indicated the use of the distributed funds.
Only complaint was having to re-trigger stock sales as Short-Term/Long-term when I reviewed and edited the income section. The initial S-T/L-T selection was saved or reflected when opened a second time.
What's great about it: Ease of use. Similarities to prior years' formats.
What's not so great: Lack of clarity/granularity in retirement distributions section. Having to re-enter Short Term/Long Term equity sales.

I would like to make payments on my state taxes and I did not see that information on TurboTax.
