2012 tax preparation

This is probably the 18th year I have used Turbo Tax and I see improvements each time. Being able to file electronically is a great way to submit a return.
What's great about it: The program asked all the right questions.
What's not so great: Sometimes on going back to a page on the step-by-step, things popped up that did not appear on the first go-around.

Can choose easy step-by-step or manual form entry
What's great about it: Transfers data from last year's return & does error checks
What's not so great: Federal filing is no-cost, but still a (small) fee for State filing

Unhappy with the K-1 input. I don't believe Form 8582 reflects the correct loss carryforward to 2013. The worksheets are correct, but the final form seems to have dupllicated last year's carryforward. I do not understand but filed thinking it must be correct.
What's not so great: Time consuming method to split three line items of the K-1. Would prefer to enter at one time.

Ease of use

I've used Turbo Tax for several years and have always been extremely satisfied with the program. It takes you step by step through your income and deductions so you won't miss anything. Why pay a "tax guy" hundreds of dollars to do your taxes when all they basically do is input the information that you've gathered?
What's great about it: Walks you through the entire process
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Have always used an accountant to file. This year, I thought I would try Turbotax and do it myself. Initially, I was a little anxious, not being an accountant or "numbers' person myself. But the software is very straightforward and took me through all of the parts of filing, step by step. By the end of the process, I was pretty comfortable and confident that I was filing correctly, not missing any deductions, etc. Hooray!! Will definitely use it again next year.
What's great about it: Filing was pretty straightforward and painless
What's not so great: Offer an overview or "map" of the filing process, components involved--eg. income, deductions, etc.

What's not so great: ANNOYING GUY WITH THE HEADPHOBES

This was excellent! We usually have someone else do our taxes but it had gotten so expensive! I was nervous to do it on my own but the guidance provided by the program helped me so much.
What's great about it: Detailed descriptors and help
What's not so great: Not having more documents loaded to pull from
