I have used Turbo Tax for many years and have been satisfied. But this year there were several very frustrating aspects. Two in particular are what I consider program bugs. One was on interest. A downloaded info from Fidelity has nothing in the interest column this year. But Turbo Tax was looking for something. When I filled in 0 it worked.
Also on efile to IL, there was a 0 in the Tax Payments worksheets under "other state". Come on -- 0 and blank should be treated the same.
And these kind of problems don't get answers from the Community. I refuse to pay Turbo Tax to answer questions of this type.
What's great about it: In general, easy to use
What's not so great: Hard to resolve errors. Community doesn't help.

program easily walks you thru all the entries and does a check to make sure you haven't forgotten anything. Love how it transfers data from year to year. I would recommend.

I love your program.but why do you have to charge extra to file a state return when other programs have free filling of state returns. I bought the delux version of your software and got a free state program however I live in Hawaii and my children live in Utah so inorder to help them with their taxes I had to purchase another state program. You should have a version of your software that includes multiple states so that parents can help their children file their taxes.

What's not so great: You charge to much to file state returns

Pretty good, but parts I didn't understand

In general, I like Turbo Tax, but sometimes it doesn't explain well what is happening to the total amount due and why. In particular, the program does not explain well how the Alternative Minimum Tax works and when the AMT is affecting the amount due and which deductions are being disallowed. So three stars for being pretty good, but needs a little bit more to earn five stars.
What's great about it: Does all the calculations for you
What's not so great: some explanations were puzzling

Easy to use, lots of deduction $$$

Fast and easy to use, just like always. The itsdeductible feature was awesome - I would never feel confident claiming as much for donated items as I do using the tool. I would otherwise be cheating myself!
What's great about it: helped me make the most of my donations

Turbo Tax leads through everything you need. It also will find deductions and credits that you would have never known where out there. I have recommended turbo tax to everyone I know. Why pay for a tax service when you can do it yourself.
What's great about it: Makes doing taxes soooo easy
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy and Stress Free

I have used Turbo Tax every year since 1999. Makes filing taxes a breeze. I bought a house in 2008 and received a Homeowner's Tax Credit; Turbo Tax reminds me to pay back what I owe yearly. All my questions are answered. Great product! Will use again next year!
What's great about it: It's deductible is a big help!
What's not so great: None

Loved the guidance. TurboTax listed items for each and every category of guidance. The items listed made me think about if I missed something. The details gave me confidence that the tax return was completed thoroughly.
