Big Refund

TurboTax was great! It helped me prepare my return in an easy, step-by-step fashion that resulted in me maximizing my deductions and credits. TurboTax evaluated itemized deductions I previously did not use because the IRS instructions were too confusing. I received a great tax refund because of the help TurboTax provided.
What's great about it: Excellent step by step approach

Not for the Rookie

I am pretty computer savvy & work in the financial industry so tax laws etc. are not foreign to me. However I still find myself confused about some of the deductions, some of the "help" information is ambiguous & I find that I'm uncertain where to enter data that may have two "homes". There are so many deductions which is a great thing however, I think that there needs to be clearer information on what to and what not to enter where. I have been a Turbo Tax user for years & this year was harder for me than previous. I will be paying for a CPA to handle our taxes for future years.
What's great about it: Cheaper then a CPA
What's not so great: Information Over load

A concise list at the beginning of preparing taxes that details the documents and information such as bank routing number and account number would be most helpful.
What's great about it: always improving

Convenience Fee Extortion

I've used Turbotax for 10 years, and this maybe my last year.
I love the simplicity of the program, and it's integration with state forms.
I find the requirement to enter credit card information twice annoying, and the the convenience fee for charing tax payment too high.
I find it unimaginable that Intuit with it's size can't get a better credit card rate.
I think it's more a nickel and dime game than a true convenience fee.
What's great about it: Simplicity
What's not so great: Outrageous credit card fee

Turbo Tax is simply a great program that's easy to use, easy to follow and it makes filing my taxes as easy as 1-2-3!
