I've been using Turbo Tax for eight years now...started in 2005. I like that it pulls in data from previous years. And now I see that is is tracking the base for our Roth IRAs! Fabulous!
What's great about it: Turbo tax is precise and walks me through every step.

Got it Done

I used turbo tax to complete four tax returns for different family members in different tax situations. It is not fun doing taxes, however, the turbo tax program makes it alot easier to get the job done in a rather short period of time. I like being able to transfer the prior year tax return information to the current year return without having to remember or enter the information all over again.
What's great about it: Very detailed program

How did we ever do this by hand once?

I've been using TurboTax for years and I just can't imagine how I ever did this by hand. Doing my taxes used to be a days long chore--and I have a degree in accounting! With TurboTax, it takes me a couple of hours at most. It's so easy to use and I love that info from my previous year's return can be uploaded without my having to re-enter my personal data. Love it and wouldn't use anything else!
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Sometimes the download feature of financial data doesn't work

Turbo Tax Once Again

I will use Turbo Tax again next year. It is helpful to walk me through step by step and deduction by deduction.
What's great about it: I like the option to walk me through or not. I also appreciate the showing of last years information.

Best of the Do-It-Yourself Products

Third year running using TurboTax. The best of the major softwares I've used. The most logical flow, and easiest to jump between sections. I see room for improvement in less common sections, where sometimes all fields need to be filled in (i.e., long-term and short-term gains by quarter) but which isn't required when you fill it in - you only discover it when error checking starts asking you to fill in random fields in the tax form. It takes someone who knows what they're doing to figure out where in the app to re-enter the info, as opposed to editing the tax forms directly.
What's great about it: Logical Flow and Interface, Complete
What's not so great: For Less-Common Sections, Missing Some Error Checking

You don't need tobe ann accountant to use turbo tax. it is a stroll thru the questions and you are done
What's great about it: Simple step by step preparation
What's not so great: sometimes hard to get to the right form
