Could be a lot better

They do very limited software testing. The product is incapable of efiling with foreign information.
Zipcode field in FBAR will not accept foreign addresses.
Foreign joint accounts require TIN for foreign persons as joint account holders.
Dates visiting the US for foreign income exclusion does not accept various for the situation of being located just across the border and making multiple short trips.
Foreign employers in data entry required to have US Employer ID.

What's great about it: Its better than the alternatives

Turbotax gets the job done

I've used TurboTax for years. I love that it remembers what I did last year because it helps me figure out that I might be missing paperwork. I also love that it transfers my Federal numbers to my state form and also includes applicable items from last year's form automatically.
I don't like that they try to sell you stuff like Quicken at the end. I also thought the State questionaire was very basic and didn't offer the help I'd look for (finding the spot for 529 accounts was hard, and I couldn't find the state tax instructions in Turbotax). I also really wish there was a calculator.
What's great about it: Reliable. Not as hard as most people think. Some sections show comparison to last year.
What's not so great: Charge to efile state. Sales pitches at the end. State Tax section.

EZ to Buy EZ to Use!

Tubro tax is an application, that has been getting easier to use every year. It;s an application I will continue to use for years to come.
What's great about it: The system ran me through, step by step and it was easy to go back and change items as I found more data
What's not so great: There were some items where "Help tips" were not shown (Paid family sick leave)

I wasn't sure what to do when it came to the Health Savings account info. There wasn't enough available backup to explain what is needed and where to find the information needed. I am not secure in what information I provided.
What's great about it: Easy to manuever through overall
What's not so great: Lost me when it came to form 8889 Health Savings Accounts
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've been using TurboTax for years and this is the easiest one to date, if it weren't for the actual paying taxes part this would a joy.
What's great about it: Good process flow
What's not so great: Each time you go to the review page you must scroll all the way to the bottom to the continue button.

Love Turbo Tax...I would use NO other!!!!

I have used Turbo Tax for years. I do not miss the high fees of my OLD accountant. Turbo Tax is always accurate and high quality, with great ease of use. Thank you for such a wonderful program and the excellent communications with the entire process. From Start to Finish Turbo Tax is there! . Now if you could just pay my tax bill......I can dream!
What's great about it: User Friendly! Accurate!!!!
What's not so great: Not a one!
