Taxes Made Easy

Easy to use program. Good review instructions, Great review of returns when complete. Very very good.
What's great about it: ease of operation, ability to skip and come back without losing data
What's not so great: Would like to have more than one state available for no extra charge

easier the second time

very easy to use. I would like to have the state e-file as part of the program instead of having to use my credit card.

Die hard Turbo Tax User

I have been using Turbo Tax since 1991 after I had gone to one of the big tax services and they said I owed $800 in taxes. I immediately took my paper work back and bought Turbo Tax. After running through the program and quickly learning how to use it, the taxes I owed was $0.
A friend bought one of the competing tax software programs, ran into lots of problems and ended up going to an accountant to complete his taxes.

After using Turbo Tax for 22 years, I am a die-hard user of Turbo Tax and highly recommend it.
What's great about it: Love the expert system and the ease to find additional resources
What's not so great: When you go back to make a change, the program does not bring you back to where you left off
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

TurboTax 2012

When TT2012 went through the Student deductions it only asked about student loan interest. How ever if I had not dug around and gone from almost E-Filing back to the deduction section, I would have nevere found that I could get a credit for part of the tuition that I paid. I would have ended up paying $1,318 instead of getting back $1,184.
Be carful and double check everything you can think of!

Keeping It Real

Filing taxes on my own would be IMPOSSIBLE without Turbo Tax. After 20 years of use, it is still the best tax prep program on the planet. The IRS tax code is incredibly complicated; even the instructions are confusing. TT sorts it all out and puts the steps into logical categories. I've also been able to go back to prior years and successfully defend against an audit. Turbo Tax keeps it real simple year after year.
What's great about it: Interface allows you to go fast or slow as needed
What's not so great: Footnotes about changes in the law woud be nice
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years and and I have found it to be the painless way to compute and file taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to follow detailed instructions.
What's not so great: Had trouble obtaining my wife's Pin for joint return.
