Turbo Tax has been very dependable for many years and I have never had a problem. They continue to improve the process.
What's great about it: Guides you through each step and is always current with updates.
What's not so great: Still hate doing taxes!

I love the way the program walks me though each section required for tax preparation. I am asked the relevant questions needed to determine if I need to address a particular area. The software makes it so easy to do my taxes without paying someone else to file for me.
What's great about it: I like the way the program walks you through each section and asks relevant questions.
What's not so great: No cons!!

So easy a caveman can do it

I like the step by step simple approach to one of the worst codes ever written (the tax code). Turns complex language into easy to understand concepts to make educated answer without having to guess. Highly recommended.
What's great about it: Guided walk through everything
What's not so great: Couldn't find anything on 457 contributions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Please commit more resources to your state income tax product - this is the first time I have ever received a notice because a Turbotax form didn't populate correctly. It was on the retirement income,even though your software calculated the correct tax (which I am still in dispute with the state about) the state sent me a letter saying it was incomplete. When I went back into your software to check what was wrong, the software NOW has the form populated correctly. Raise a flag, tell your customers to hold off on filing if the forms aren't ready if you have to.
I realize states continue to change their rules and it is tough to keep up, but I expect more from your product team and support.
What's not so great: retirement form didn't populate, inherited IRA not treated correctly
