If only could get same value from govt...

Easy to navigate and very thorough. Able to easily repeat steps. Easy to find additional information and specifics if needed. Efile is great.
What's great about it: Inexpensive, easy to use.
What's not so great: That I have to pay taxes...

TurboTax Okay, But Could be Better

I've used TurboTax for several years and find it to be easy to use, great for importing last years information and W-2s. However, I think it could do better at giving tips and ideas for particular situations to save tax. For example, when your income begins to approach certain levels, you begin losing child tax credits and IRA deductions. More guidance and tips for these areas would be beneficial.

I liked Turbo Tax very much. It provides step by step and also help you to understand all the different ways you can save tax.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Solid Performance Overall - A Few Hiccups

This has been extremely helpful software for several years and has greatly simplified my job in creating our family's tax returns, as simple as they are. I would have rated "excellent" but for an "Investment Expense" appearing on line 23 of my itemized deductions, whose origin I couldn't track down. As it turns out it didn't pass a minimum deduction requirement and therefore did not affect our final deduction. Nonetheless, a capability to trace this back somewhere would have been useful without needing to consult Customer Service.
What's great about it: thoroughness of tax law coverage
What's not so great: numbers appearing on the 1040 Schedule A I didn't understand
