Depends on what your filing

I have now used HR Block software and Turbo Tax software. I enjoyed the Federal step by step questions. It does take longer to fill out then HR Block but I think it is more accurate and descriptive. As for the state taxes, I filed both NJ and PA and I had a lot more trouble figuring out what I should be doing. If I was only filing one state then I am sure Turbo Tax would have gotten 5 stars from me!! Next year, I will only file one state and use Turbo tax again!
What's great about it: Federal was very easy to follow
What's not so great: Was confused when filing two state income taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

No Worries!

This is the 2nd year of using Turbo Tax so it was even easier than last year because all of my info. was transferred over. Thanks for making this process so easy!
What's great about it: The process was quick, easy, and I didn't get frustrated once!

Best way to file!

Turbo Tax is an awesome product. We used to go to a tax adviser & that took more time & money. This program walks you through the entire process. It also checks all the info you input.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: none
Pros: I had a baby, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Great For Students

Great Product, I can file my taxes in about two hours, and as a student with multiple education deductions this product worked great.
What's great about it: Has all the Educational Tuition Deductions Easy
What's not so great: Doesn't Always Explain what all the deductions are

Good interface, poor stability

I have been a long-time fan of TurboTax, but this year has been the *worst* release of the software that I can remember. Every time there was an update, it would corrupt the program and prevent it from opening (it would crash right after opening the program). Thankfully, reinstalling it fresh from the CD and allowing the update to work on a brand-new installation would get me back in business, but that means I had to trash it and reinstall it just about once a week. That's _ridiculous_! On top of that, it no longer works on my older (5 yr old iMac running Snow Leopard). Thankfully my wife had a newer Mac, but that's pretty shoddy to cut out relatively recent hardware like that (Snow Leopard is officially supported, but not on 32-bit machines, like my old iMac). I will be seriously considering using a different program if that's the kind of Mac support I should expect.
What's great about it: Solid interface, thorough, easy to use
What's not so great: Requires 64-bit Mac, crashes and needs to be reinstalled after every update

i like turbo tax..importing previous years data, importing w2, importing financial institution data. I was dissapointed filing my state. it automatically assigned filing status the same as federal when I wanted it change status. Moreover when I did change, turbo did not reset the income and deductions to the correct status. I will have to go over all the worksheets and redo the state to feel comfortable.
