Intuitive and easy to use!

The federal return was easy to file. Instructions were clear. Help was readily available in the online forum. Did not have any issues whatsoever. In fact my return was a little more complicated than usual with a relocation and all. But TurboTax was up to the task and made the process a "walk in the park". Used the software last year too - liked the fact that all necessary information from my 2011 return were pulled into my 2012 return. More importantly, it was nice to compare 2011 & 2012 for the various line items, something Turbo Tax does automatically. Recommend the product highly! Much easier than filling out the forms manually and certainly much cheaper than using a tax accountant!
The instructions that go with the state return could be improved on. (I filed for NJ) My tax situation was a bit complicated as I moved over the course of the year. Had to go to the NJ taxation website for guidance on some questions.
On the whole, product is excellent. Have used TurboTax for three years now and will continue to use the software for future returns!
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: State return instructions could be improved on

Good Product

Delux should only come with one free state tax.
What's great about it: Good Product and easy to use
What's not so great: Annoyed have to see summary after entering every section. Annoyed that Delux comes in 2 versions, with and without State

Product is easy to use and generally self explanatory. However, I did encounter a programming error. Form 1099B transactions in which a cost basis was not reported to the IRS. Turbotax should file these to form 8949 copy 2. When entering the sale in Turbotax, it you check "cost basis not reported on 1099B", it will incorrectly file into form 8949 copy 1. To get it to file correctly, you must check "cost basis was reported on 1099B (even though the cost basis was not reported) and then check that it was not reported to the IRS. It will then file correctly.
I think that the Turbotax price for additional states is ridiculously high.

Simple and effective

I've never used an accountant or tax firm to file, only Turbo Tax. Using it year to year is very helpful as it transfers all your standard information so you don't have to fill it all in again. E-filing is really simple as well, but there is an extra fee for state e-filing, but you can opt to print and mail that one in for free, still, I feel state e-filing should be included.
What's great about it: simplifies filing, especially if used year to year :-)
What's not so great: fee for state filing :-(

Better than expected!

Turbo Tax was easy and as painless as taxes can be. Saved me a headache and money.

The product performed well, allowing me to enter data in a logical manner. The help features were great at explaining concepts. All in all as good an experience as tax preparation can be.
