More complicated this year

As always Turbo Tax was easy to enter information and to file. However since I retired this year, it did not provide me with enough information as to why my tax was higher than expected. I needed to consult the IRS website for more information.
What's great about it: Easy to enter information
What's not so great: Does not always explain new things that are part of my return this year enough to my satisfaction.

We have used Turbo Tax for 5 years and have never had an issue with Turbo Tax. All our returns were approve and accepted by IRS. Turbo Tax takes away to worry of making errors Love that Turbo Tax looks over all of your entries and gives you the best options to file. Thanks Turbo Tax. Even though we owed money to IRS, you still saved us money.
What's great about it: This is the easiest software I have ever used.
What's not so great: non
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TT has gotten much better over the years. I have been using TT for 15 years now and it keeps getting easier and easier

Many Happy Returns

I used another product one year and then came back to TurboTax. Even for that one year, the other software gave me two different answers if I clicked through the same section multiple times. It left me unnerved [hence my con about having to depend too much on the software]. I actually used TurboTax on-line (free if not filing) to check the math for the other product that year to give me some comfort.
The only confusing item I ran into this year was a college tuition item. Specifically, the page was titled "Is this <student>'s First Year of College?" The two possible answers were: "Yes, <student> is in the first year." and "No, <student> is not in the first year of college or school." So, I would have chosen yes because my child started college in August 2012. However, if you read the details of the section, it is asking if the student is in the first year of school or college as of January 1, 2012. So, I answered "No" because my child didn't start until August. However, I have no clue what TurboTax was getting at because of the titling of the page and the wording of the answers. Unfortunate.
However, given all of the complexities of our stupid tax code, TurboTax is an extremely helpful and time-saving product that I have used faithfully for many, many years (save the one noted above!). I have recommended it to multiple friends and acquaintances over the years and I recommend it to any reader of this review.
What's great about it: I have used TT for 15 years and each year the entry of data gets easier.
What's not so great: So many new features that it can be difficult to make sure I am using all of them. You have to trust the software!

Been using Turbo Tax forever. Still the best. Last two years it seems to take forever to start up, but once going it is fine.

File with confidence

I am an accountant by profession, but keeping up with ever changing tax laws is almost impossible. Turbo Tax takes a methodical, detailed walk through the existing tax laws and allows you to file with confidence, knowing that any changes (and there will be some!) have been noted, analyzed, and included in the program.
What's great about it: Detailed, step by step process
What's not so great: Many sections will not apply, but can be educating

I find TurboTax to be very clean and efficient in guiding me through the maze of the illogical tax system. I appreciate the error checks and the clues for corrections.
What's great about it: detail questions on each item
