My first major disapointment

When I tried to e-file, the program asked me for the zip code of my employer. I tried 4 or 5 times to find why this question was asked. Finally, the program stated that if I did not have this information, I should file by mail. Note that I am retired and I do not have an employer.
As I said, this is a major disappointment. I have used Turbotax for over 10 years and this is the first time I had a problem I could not solve.

What's great about it: almost all features were straight forward

Sigh - Turbotax good, owing taxes bummer

Have used Turbotax for many years and have learned to like it. Even with all the constant hand-holding and error checking there still seems to be "dark" areas of the program that casts doubt into my mind that I have done everything properly.
We have very simple returns, but when there is that one-off situation that does not occur every year, I get nervous. In the past, I had to consult a tax specialist and actually did not use Turbotax. The reason was that TT was not clear on directions about my situation and entering the information into TT left me very unsettled.
Fortunately the tax specialist straightened everything out and all was well - I did have to pay more to Uncle Sam, but my taxes were done properly.
What's great about it: ease of use
What's not so great: would prefer browser like functionality, more state specific information with issues such as vehicle tax deductions, etc

I have been using Turbo Tax now for many years and it continues to be a strong program that is extremely user friendly. As an accountant, I know how difficult it can be to try to read through IRS documents and remember to move things from worksheet to tax return and especially from form to form. Turbo Tax makes it simple by asking questions most people can answer and then making the necessary entries.

It's super easy to use. I wish I hadn't been scared off by the MN Return Glitch, but I came back at the last minute and it worked great.

What's not so great: MN return issue scared me away from filing until the last minute

Love the way this program guides you through all of the possibilities and blind corners in a friendly and efficient manner. Also makes it easy to find your way back to an entry that needs to be updated or corrected. I'm a huge fan of TURBO TAX !!.

Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
