TurboTax is great for simple returns, but has enough bugs in the state programs to make the whole thing a waste of time. i spent *many* hours trying to figure out how enter my info in a manner that the program would recognize. specifically, the program *insists* that i "apportion" my income for Massachusetts, but this is a job i only performed in Maine. arrrggggg. yup, that's it. i won't be using TurboTax next year.
What's great about it: offers promted guidance
What's not so great: still had to figure everything out my self

Filings rejected due to SSN fraud

Filed on 4/12/13 and both Fed and State were rejected over night. TurboTax email already had the solution options. Called them regarding confirmation of what I had to do, plus stoppage of payment auto-draft to Feds and possible refund of State filing fee, since reject reason eliminated e-filing. Even on 4/13/13, the Saturday prior to filing deadline, the call wait was not that long and the customer service rep was calm, polite and 5-star helpful. While this is not a good position to be in, once again TurboTax came to the rescue.

Couldn't be easier

Using Turbo Tax is the easiest thing I do all year. As long as you have all your receipts there is no reason whatsoever to use a tax preparer. It checks and double checks all of your work and keeps you informed of your progress the entire time you're using it. It even checks for errors and audit alerts before it lets you file. Everyone should be using this.

Made tax filing easy. The menu system is easy to navigate and the price can't be beat.

I file each year from turbo since 2006. It has been very informative, quick and this year very fast for me. I learned a lot preparing for tax season this year just by going through the program
What's great about it: fast, very imformative at each deductions, credits etc
What's not so great: i really like this program 2012 was especially great
