Found reporting 1099 Q confusing
What's great about it: mostly makes sure I do everything correctly

I like turbo tax it is very good how it guides you through the process. I did have trouble with the non resident state tax. my husband and I file jointly but only I had income for one state and it counnted both our incomes so not sure if I did that right. the federal part is very easy to use and if you do not have too complicated situations this is a terrific product. would not have wanted to try to figure it out all on mt own.
What's great about it: EASY TO FILE
What's not so great: HAD MULTIPLE 1099R TO ENTER HAD TO ENTER EVERYTHING FOR EACH FORM

Great, Easy, Fast!

This is by far the best way to file your own taxes. The easy step-by-step instructions are concise and ensure you get every tax advantage. It didn't take long and with the easy E-file option, I never had to leave home to file.
What's great about it: very user frinedly. used step by step for deductions. This gave me deductions I hadn't thought about

State Process is much improved

In my very complicated, multi-state return, the only difficulty was at the end, coordinating one e-file and two mandatory paper files. But it still worked out fine.
It really gets easier every year, and this year, especially the state returns.
What's great about it: Fed was always just fine. Now the States are too.
What's not so great: A little bit difficult to navigate.

Easy program to use and the cost is reasonable. We use Turbo Tax every year and it is always a stress free experience!

I've used TT for several years now. My tax situation is not very complex. I itemize deductions, but I don't have a business, or rental income, etc. The vast majority of TT is very easy to use.
What's great about it: Fairly simple to walk through an average return
What's not so great: Still some choices that are not clear

Features I would like to see fixed in TurboTax Del

(1) I want worksheet to see calculation of MAGI. TTD declared excess contribution without letting me see the calculations.
(2) I asked a question of TT through user interface. I did not receive and answer.
(3) Recording charitable contributions is tedious. I would like to blow our the previous donations and start anew. Or, if the previous years donations were in alphabetical order it would make it easier to find for new filing.

What's great about it: Importing records from previous years
What's not so great: Obscured calculation of MAGI for Roth IRA
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
