Once again, another easy walk-through of needed informaiton. Love the donation item value calculator added in last year! So much easier to plug in the numbers step-by-step showing last year's figures as a basic guide.
What's great about it: Great explainations, thourough. Donation value tracker
What's not so great: Assumption of previous employment information

I keep coming back to Turbo Tax year-after-year. I've found it helpful and reliable. Every year new features and functions make it more valuable. I recommend it to family and friends. I like the links to firms for ease of entry - unfortunately I can only do some of my entry this way. I do wish that the state program (PA) was better - too many little problems, not enough guidance/explanations, some data transfer problems. I'm also happy about free ferderal e-file - I wish the state e-file was free too.
What's great about it: It handles most Federal topics very well and explains clearly most items
What's not so great: Some of the state (PA) items are weak and information doesn't always transfer well. This is an area for upgrade.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

More than 20 years of TT
on April 13, 2013

I have been using TT for more than 20 years successfully. And will continue to use TT. However, this year was challenged by an ineffective import of prior year information. It was necessary to repeatedly manually add information such as SSNs. It missed importing all information from Bank of America so again, manual entry. When I attempted to add a second home office because previously only my wife had a home office I now too am working exclusively from home. That was a challenge. Intuit support insisted we could have only one home office in this same house. To properly align income and expenses it is necessary to show two. After considerable effort and Internet searching, success and it passed the review. One bad experience in more than 20 attempts is forgivable.
What's great about it: Well trusted by many folks including the IRS
What's not so great: This year was challenged by poor transfer from last year
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
