I sold mutual fund investments for the first time in 2012. Turbo Tax walked me through how to report this information very easily.
What's great about it: Easy to understand, fast
What's not so great: None

I've been using Turbo Tax for a long time, it sure beats doing taxes by long hand.

Easy way to do your taxes

Very easy to use and acurate information. I used it to compute taxes for myself and both of my children. Turbo Tax did a wonderful job of finding all the deduction we were entitled to and a couple of them I did not know about before.
I would recomend Turbo Tax to anyone who wants to save the most possible on their taxes.

Great Product

I have used TurboTax since the 1980's both on a Mac and on a PC. I checked my manually prepared return one year against TurboTax and it was exact. I never did my taxes manually again. Thank you TurboTax.
The only negative is that the fees for processing efile for states are bothersome.
What's great about it: Easy to use, accurate calculations, has all of the forms

Good but sometimes a nuisance

I have used Turbotax for 15-20 years. I like it. It is easy to use. But there is no option to "permanently" skip TurboTax's "sales" ads/offers. For example: I DO NOT WANT to accept the "Keep Up To Date ..." option but have to make two selections to get past it EVERY TIME I want to continue working on my return. IT IS A NUISANCE! Please provide an "always skip this offer"option that I can choose one time only and never have to be delayed by that offer again. Same with the offer to buy upgraded TurboTax software for business purposes ... and others throughout the software's pages. I don't mind reading it ONCE but am annoyed by having to make the same NO selection over and over again. I do my taxes in stages, probably work on it 10 or more times before I file; I do not complete them in one "sitting."
Because of this nuisance, I seriously considered changing tax software to your competitor this year. I don't mind receiving the offer one time, but after I make my decision, please respect it! If the software were FREE, I would expect "sales" ads. But it is not free software.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Accurate.
What's not so great: turbotax "sales" offers are a nuisance

I love Turbotax and have used it for over 15 years now. It makes my complicated tax situations easy to manage.
What's great about it: Walks you through every option. Answers all questions about specific items
What's not so great: Sometimes difficult to backtrack if needed
