What's great about it: The pros are that i don't need a PRO to do my taxes!

Not bad; could be bettter given free alternatives

Program relatively easy to use; but there should be a better way to determine which topics need to be covered; there seemed to be a lot of time spent going through unneeded topics.
When dealing with state tax refunds, there should be no need to manually go into a previous years return to determine whether the refunds are axable or not. This should be done automatically by the program by pulling the necessary information from the IRS or automatically processing the locally stored previous year's tax return.
Information should be pullled from the IRS. FAFSA pulls information from IRS so should tax software.

Determination of amounts of income from various states should be more automated given the W2 forms indicated where income was earned.
Second state should be included in the price for all those people that have to file in two states because of working in a state that they are not a resident of.
State electronic filing should be included in the price particularly if the state forms are not free to begin with.
What's great about it: relatively easy to use
What's not so great: Paying for state electronic filing; paying for extra states; no automatic pull from IRS;

Turbo Tax is ultra slow!

stupid slow updates and needing updates every time you start the process.
if your product was good enough to file a month ago, why can't i file today without updates?
and your "less than one minute remaining" is a pipe dream. typically took 10 minutes plus.

Turbo tax was very easy to follow. I do my taxes and my children and parents who have a rental. I find turbo tax very easy to follow.

Best tax software

I have been using Turbo tax since it first went on the market. The Step by step instructions are wonderful. It lets you go through each section without missing anything. I have used the on-line chats session on several occasions which helped immensely because I was able to get answers to my questions quickly. You are also able to go back and review each section to make changes and update the file easily.
What's great about it: Provides step by step instructions. Great on-line support on demand. Love the carryover info year to year

I would highly recommend! My husband and I are in the lower tax bracket and have tons of deductions and school exspenses. When I starting our taxes I was doing them by hand to save us money from having to go to a tax professional. I quickly got over whelmed and decided to research tax software. I came across many different types and this software was the only one that had every type of form I needed and also included state filling. It proved to be a perfect fit!! Thank goodness!!!
What's great about it: Finding every available form for the IRS
What's not so great: Sometimes a little tricky to navigate, but I figured it out.

EASY, RELIABLE, COMFORTABLE!

I've used TurboTax for YEARS now, and it continues to be reliable, easy and fast. My life situations have changed several times, but TurboTax has consistently handled them better than I have!
What's great about it: Just like your favorite pair of sneakers!
What's not so great: Makes it too easy to procastinate!
