Taxes for Dummies

Turbo Tax is Taxes for Dummies. It makes filing very simple, and is very easy to navigate. There is a fee for filing the state return, but the process is so easy the nominal fee is worth it. I would highly recommend this product.
What's great about it: The program walks you through step by step.
What's not so great: Fee for filing a state return.

I like the availability of the step-by-step guide, but also the ability to go through sections on your own - this is especially helpful when we're going back to do something we skipped or needed to wait on, and know what we need to do. Occasionally there is a topic or section that I'd like a little more info on to give me more clarity (and help me figure out whether it pertains to me or not more easily), but overall the help links to give extra info are great.
What's great about it: Option of using the guide or do it on your own
What's not so great: One "help" link just said info coming in the future
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Thorough and easy to us

I have been using TurboTax for 10+ years now. The first few years were a little rocky. But, for several years now the product has been rock-solid. Easy to use, but very thorough. Found an education deduction for me this year which saved me a lot of money.
What's great about it: Thorough, easy to use, fast

Turbo Tax is Taxes for Dummies. The program is very easy to navigate and understand. It automatically tailors the credits and finds the best fit for your highest possible return. There is a small fee for filing the State return, but the simplicity of the process makes it worthwhile. I would highly recommend this product.

Totally stinks

I don't know how confident I am with the low chances I received for being audited. I also received the same conclusion from 2011 and was audited for that year's taxes.
What's great about it: helpful tips available if you're unsure

Turbo Tax for the 5th Year in a Row

Since the first time I used TurboTax back in 2008, it hasn't let me down. I'm not a tax pro, but this software makes me feel like I am. Read each question carefully, type your numbers in accurately, and TurboTax does all the rest. If you used it in a previous year, it imports all your information for you. I have my husband review the numbers before I file, but I also like that you can purchase protection with a real tax professional in the case you are audited. Whoever thought of TurboTax really did their homework so that using it is intuitive and straightforward. Save your sweating for the gym, not your taxes, and get TurboTax!
What's great about it: Liked the step by step guide, easy to use and explanations were short and easy to understand without being a tax pro
What's not so great: No cons, that's why this tax prep software is awesome!
