Another year

Another year of rolling through hateful tax preparation made easier by Turbo Tax! The interview process seemed easier this year for federal returns. First time of doing State tax, which proved a bit more frustrating at a couple of junctures because I didn't understand what the program was asking me to do or how to figure out the answer. No help button was available either. Overall, federal return was a cinch; State needs some adjustments.
What's great about it: Smooth, easy to follow interview federal returns process
What's not so great: State return interview offered no help
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Solved my tax problem

I have been doing Turbo Tax for decades, but I couldn't figure out something that was reported differently this year regarding health benefits. I read everything I could from the IRS, then gave up. When it got closer to the deadline, I tried again to read all the IRS publications. I could not figure it out. I typed the question into Turbo Tax Help and discovered that five other people had the exact same problem and someone had an answer. It still took me twice going through Turbo Tax to see the solution, but it was there! And suddenly my tax refund quadrupled!!!!
What's great about it: The online help forum solved a problem I couldn't solve for over a month.
What's not so great: It would have been nice if the step by step helped me figure it out first.

Best DIY for Taxes

This is the best software for the DIY person. You get the best deductions and up-to-date forms. I really like the audit meter, which gives you an indiction of where you're at. Although nothing is guaranteed, at least you have an idea if you have to many red flags. I've used Turbotax for the last 5 years and am a satisfied customer.

best way to file

i wish it would be ready to file fed. electronicly and state by paper so it would be easier to do it that way. or better, get the state to not charge
