It doesn't get easier than this!

I am a long time user of Turbo Tax and it just doesn't get easier than this. There are no worries about what's new, etc. - this system walks you through it all.
What's great about it: Removes all the guess work.
What's not so great: Can't think of any.

TurboTax Deluxe Software - Poor experience

The software requires updates in order for you to file the return with all the proper forms. It also takes up a lot of computer space. The search function for Q&A in the community post is a bad user experience because there's no consolidation or navigation. On a Mac, tabbing from field to field does not work for a drop-down menu. Last but not least, I almost missed out on a big deduction -- just because I'm in a state that has no income tax - the interview question was never asked about if I wanted to take the General Sales Tax deduction, so I had to manually make the adjustment for general sales tax.
What's great about it: Free e-Filing with the software
What's not so great: Software requires updates, Missing forms, Poor User Experience
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Problems!!!

After several attempts to try and pay to file my state return with my saved credit card that I have had on file for 10 years and 2 other cards are not processing, says "failed to authorize" trying to find a way to contact TurboTax and that is very frustrating!! After using TT for several years I will probably remember this experience next year when comes time for taxes!

Good info, Great Performance, Always Teaching

Great Information! Felt like the system knew where to lead me. This year we had to refi our house - 2nd time in 3 years since I lost my job in 2010 -- yes stilll looking for WORK! As a result, we didn't pay enough in interest to make it worthwhile to file itemized deductions!! For once, standard deduction saved us money -- Turbo Tax knew this and told us this! Even with the expenses incurred in job searching, travel, taxes, interest, and other misicellaneous deductions, Turbo Tax sent us in the right direction! Saved us lots of money -- we've filed itemized deductions for the last 30 years of our marriage! Never would have thought that Standard Deduction would "actually help" us! But it did! Go TurboTax!!
Had minor problems with the review of the Federal Form, had to learn how to delete a form, as well as find the actual form and "remove" it from the "file". Then go on-line and delete the actual Form from the system, so it could not be added back into our "filing", requesting data from our prior year filing, which we never filed to begin with?? But, after an hour or so of finding the right info and following the instructions, all was correct; So I count this as Great Performance -- it led the way for me to figure the solution to the problem --
AND IT GAVE US AN ADDITIONAL $143.00 IN REFUND -- WOO-HOO!!!!

Really felt like I learned something this year. It was a Teacher as well as a service provider. Can't beat that!

What's great about it: Software found savings by NOT filing itemized deductions this year!
What's not so great: Some Issues with Forms in "Review process" that I had to resolve.
