Making filing easy

Turbo Tax does the calculations and asks questions that the non-professional filer is not trained to know and understand.
Electronic filing removes one more possible error in stuffing the return in an envolope and risking "lost in the shuffle."
Turbo Tax inputs the previous years return to make it easier to get started.

Fast, thorough, easy

basically good, 3rd year. first year I didn't do it all on paper first...learning to trust the system.
What's great about it: Don't have to worry about downloading forms or missing something
What's not so great: thought I purchased 5 free federal filings and 1 free state, didn't get my free state efile.

this was the first time i have filed my taxes all by myself. i usually use turbotax at home, but my dad always helps me. i thought this year i would try it all by mysleft. it was so easy! thanks! Im a big girl now!!

Quick and Easy

Once all my financial institutions provided the income data electronically, the whole process was painless...unlike prior years where the data entry for each line item was often tedious and required meticulous attention to every detail and interpretation of dissimilar financial forms. This year was great!
What's great about it: Financial statements downloaded flawlessly
What's not so great: If entering financial data by hand, it is hard to interpret different data from different institutions on the same form

I've used turbo tax almost exclusively for the last several years. One year I tried a competitor because it was a little cheaper, but I found it very much less user friendly, and I returned to TurboTax the next year. If you can import data from a previous year, it makes it pretty easy. If you use the "explore on my own" option, it saves going through sections that you don't need. The "file" view is also helpful at times. Their on-line helps are useful most of the time. Their pitch lines for extra services or upgrades are a little annoying, but don't slow you down very much.
What's great about it: after the first year, it's pretty easy. Good helps
What's not so great: on occasion it's a little cumbersome
Pros: I bought or sold investments
