Great Tool for Federal 1040 preparation

Needs to provide a good description of what is carried over into the State forms from the Federal forms so we can correctly fill in the needed information. There is almost no description for most entries on the AZ and ID state versions and zero help available.
What's great about it: Great for filing the federal 1040.
What's not so great: The State versions used were extremely cryptic and desperately lacked explanation of entries with no help whatsoever.

We have guardianship of two grandchildren, which entails additional medical expenses, childcare expense, all sorts of things we had forgotten about. TurboTax walked us through all the tax related issues and provided exceptional explanations to our questions. The peace of mind is worth the price.
What's great about it: Very thorough yet easy to use.
What's not so great: A little pricey, but still worth the money

As always--Greatest tax software ever!

I have used Turbo Tax 10 out of the last 12 years, trying 2 different years with a cheaper program and the next year, went back to Turbo Tax. It's the easiest tax software and even though it's a bit more costly (I get the Deluxe), I get much bigger returns than with the other 2 programs I have used.
What's great about it: Step by step guides
What's not so great: Nothing!

Got the job done

while Turbo Tax makes filing relatively easy, I noticed the way the questions were asked made it more confusing. After reviewing my forms I noticed things some thing were not in the correct place and I had to change them manually on the form.
Overall, Turbo Tax does a decent job.
What's great about it: calculations are easy
What's not so great: the guided questions are confusing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Tricky filing this year!

Overall, Turbo tax is very easy to use. I left my job in the past year so my income changed dramatically. My only con was that I was unable to easily compare if we should file separately due to the huge income difference between my husband and myself. However, in the end, I was able to take deductions I was not aware of, so I was happy with end result.
What's great about it: access to prior years information
What's not so great: Could not compare married filing jointly vs. separately

Been using TurboTax for more than 12 years now. Why would anyone not use TurboTax? Well, for one, my 90 year old Father still insists he needs to sweat and stress about his taxes and do them by hand, and it takes him 2 weeks to recover physically from it. Me? I'm finished with our taxes in a half an hour. and my taxes are way more complicated than Dad's. So, damage yourself over your taxes if you want, or go out to eat with your refund. you choose.
What's great about it: easy to use, easy to file
What's not so great: extra cost add on programs like audit defense
