Huge time savings!

We have used Turbo Tax for the past 5 years. Not only has it gotten us a larger refund, it is extremely easy to use. It even figured out that we could utilize a carry over from last year - something that we would not have figured out on our own. The instructions and explanations are very simple and easy to follow. We will be using it again next year.
What's great about it: Import of info from brokerage house has saved many hours
What's not so great: Can't think of any

Turbo Tax is very easy to use. Got my taxes filed within a few hours after starting entering the information.

Marginal tax rate info, problem with crashing,

In the summary that prints out as the first page for both the FED 1040 and FTB 540 (Cal) returns, you provide the effective tax rate but not the marginal tax rate. It would be very useful also to have the marginal tax rate provided since this could help for tax planning.
Also when preparing to e-file, one should be able to print out the details of the electronic signature page including the PIN and other details about payments that one has to authorize. I would like to have a record of any payments made, whether through my bank or with a credit card.
What's great about it: Program worked mostly well--easy to use
What's not so great: Program crashed when downloading update, did not go back to where I left off.

It is very helpful when previous year information is plugged in, charity addresses, seeing comparisons from previous years, etc.
What's great about it: ability to stop and start back up again, go back, alerts when an area has been missed.
What's not so great: some confusion navigating to make copies

2012 turbo tax review

The product is excellent. There are some instances where it could be better. I hit on one of them in my return. Virginia does not have reciprocity with 4 states, oregon being one of them. If that is the case, turbo tax takes you a circular process of trying to do the state tax offsets for both states. however, by looking up the virginia instructions on line, you find that there is an easy fix / rule and your are done. It would have been nice if turbo tax programmed that in.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: certain multi state combos such as with virginia and the 4 states that do not have reciprocity can be complicated

Makes doing the "yearly dread" easy and enjoyable. I have been using Turbo Tax for several years and it has made a huge difference in filing - SIMPLE. I recommend it to all I talk to when tax time rolls around.
What's great about it: Easy to do step by step instruction. Great checks for mistakes.
What's not so great: nothing

Bought Turbo Tax fron Staples as I have for many years and began filling out - came to state and had to pay $$$$. Not real happy.
In filling out, some parts did not make sense - final seemed correct.
