I have found the program easier each year. This year had some more complicated issues, but got thru them just fine. I am confident that the program is correct and meets the IRS standards. Plan to continue to use in the future.
What's great about it: Easy to follow. Using for many years
What's not so great: No problems.

Always a pleasure to use Turbo Tax Deluxe

I look forward to using TuboTax Deluxe each year. The only issue I had this year is that I started my return online, purchased the download version, imported the work I had done so far online ... and the information from my 2011 return somehow got imported incorrectly and I wasn't able to figure out on my own how to correct this. I'm not sure how this happened, since I've been using TurboTax Deluxe each of the last few years. I did go ahead and efile my 2012 returns, because TurboTax has made me perfectly confident that my 2012 returns are correct ... and that's the feeling I get every time I efile my Federal and State returns with TurboTax Deluxe.
What's great about it: Thorough, systematic, easy to navigate.
What's not so great: Not clear that there is an additional fee to efile the state return, above the fee for the state return itself.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I think there should be a place on the State filling that you can select no, if your State does not collect state taxes.
Tennessee does not and it took me through to the end and I had to say I would do it later to be able to file!!!!!

I live in a state that has no state tax return needed (NH). Turbotax should skip over the step by step questions that deal with state taxes when there are none. (As well as trying to sell me state tax software that I clearly don't need!) Otherwise, wonderful product, been using it for years.

2012 not so great

There was a glitch when I efiled this year. After a couple hours spent on live chat and eventually contacting a tax specialist by phone, I had to e-file again. The question of what happened to my first e-file was never answered, but the tax specialist resolved the problem in no time at all.
What's great about it: User friendly
What's not so great: Help not always available for the novice

LONG WAIT TIME ON THE PHONE, BUT WORTH THE HELP! THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED MY CALL WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS AND HELPED US TO FIGURE OUT WHAT OUR PROBLEM WAS. I THOUGHT WE OWED $14542.00, WHICH TURNED OUT WAS AN ERROR ON OUR W-2. IN THE END WE WERE OWED A REFUND OF $1,739.00. THANK YOU TURBO TAX!!!!
