Long-form! Not nearly as painful as paper
on April 12, 2013

I love the prompting mode. It carries you through the process with as little pain as possible. Makes entering form data so easy by telling you which boxes to use from the mass of paperwork!
What's great about it: Prompting for most verything I need to enter
What's not so great: Sometimes the unusual is difficult like stocks
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax was very easy to use. It walked you step by step through your return and even checked for errors. Would definitely use this program again.

overall very good, will continuee to use.
What's great about it: generally simple, step-by-step process, was able to finish in one afternoon
What's not so great: had to back out of one unusual step, then had to go back to Form view and delete form; that could have been simpler

Return went very easy, Turbo Tax carried forward information like loss carried forwards and prior year tax refund to current year etc. Terrific! No problem doing royalty interest, K-1's and 1099 Misc payments.

Most all things are great and very easy to use. In using previous years tax information a lot of items could be removed and only ask if there is a change in any category then a edit could be done to any changes. Next year I will try not to use the easy forward on income and deductions, This may help. This product is not only easy but is also pretty quiick.
What's great about it: Easy to use breaks down deductions
What's not so great: Goes back to review screen to much

Got me through a difficult time of year!

I had previously used a private tax preparer. He did not explain his calculations & thus I would not have been able to explain or defend my income tax form if questioned. I did not like the software offered before TurboTax and the free service offered on the IRS website looked like I would pick up a virus if I even clicked on any one of the free service providers!
I did have a problem when I first tried to E-file my Federal Income Tax form. The program kept wanting me to fill in the State & Zip Code on 'an unknown W-2 form. I checked my form & verified that all my earnings were reported on 1099-R forms. There were no wages listed & thus no W-2's. I was going to call as I was getting frantic but I noticed that TurboTax automatically pulled up questions & answers to similar problems from the TurboTax community. The solution to my problem was at the top of the list. It seems when you upload data from previous years, the option that TurboTax will expect one to enter a W-2 again this year might be selected--and it was. All I had to do was select 'we don't have any W-2's.'
What's great about it: Explanations clear enough for a non-legalese to understand
What's not so great: uploading last year's data selected option that I had a W-2 form unbeknownst to me
