Less sweat, less swearing,

I used to have a professional tax preparer do the work. Quickly I was paying more then any refund was.
I then did it the long way with paper, and had many trips to get the "right" forms. Still not sure if they were the right forms, or all the forms I needed.
Turbo tax has made that a thing of the past. All the information; all the guidance' and all the forms I need are available on my computer.
I'm not staying up into the wee hours. I no longer get angrier by the minute because the government can't write a paragraph in plain simple english.
I especially like that the program stores and refers to past filing information so I don't have to look it all up again, and again.
Tax time is less stressful. Thanks!

Helped me with a Schedule D (Capital gains and losses) that I never had to file before. Since everything has gone electronic, it makes it more difficult to read the instructructions and fill out the form at the same time (excessive paging back and forth). With Turbo Tax, everything was explained in "layman's terms" every step of the way.
What's great about it: Ease of Use
What's not so great: Error on my return (after telling me it was accurate) when trying to e-file. No clue as to where to find error.

Never go back to Tax Act

Used Turbo tax for 2010 and did not care for the experience so I switched to Tax Act. I gave it another try this year 2012 and love it.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Have used TurboTax for the past several years. Like the ease of completing both federal and state returns in a single session.
What's great about it: Easy enough to complete in a single session!

I have used TT for many years now. It makes next year's return much easier when the numbers and info from this year are remembered. Easy to download updates, State returns, and to e-file. I can project next year's numbers as one of my 5 returns. I have had to amend a return twice. TT makes it a dream to do. State returns take just minutes after entering all the info only once. Downloading info from our brokerage is simple and accurate--saves a lot of time.
What's great about it: continuity from year to year; 5 returns; ease of filing amended
What's not so great: lots of pages print that I don't want
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I could not believe the layout and guidense that TurboTax gives you! Truly a light in a dark "IRS" tunnel.
What's great about it: I liked the excellent layout and ease of navigation, Everything was Excellent and Professional

Saved time and money! Worked through all the possible deductions, steps are very clear and I found I could deduct more than I would have though to look into had I not had the program. I got confused in some areas but that is bound to happen-it would have been ten times worse without the program.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and fast
What's not so great: some complicated issues confusing
