If you have never used turbo tax and have relied on doing it the old paper way, now might be the time to start. The software walks you through the process, does all the calculations and best of all has an accuracy guarantee. Moreover, I have not been audited and the auditing analysis gives you a probability rating of being audited. My taxes are pretty basic so it works well. If you have a much more complicated financial picture (business, foreign accounts, multiple divorces,etc) I don't know if it is right for you. But for most people this works great.

It's so easy!

I have always prepared our taxes and for several years now, I have used Turbo Tax. With Turbo Tax, it couldn't be any easier. After going through the program step by step, I know what to save for next years return, even if I have new situations arise. There is always help available if I am not sure, either just by reading the explanations or through the online support.
What's great about it: The program walks you through every step. If you aren't sure, there is always an explanation available to help you .

Have a small Biz..w QuickBooks, made filing a snap

Been an Ituit/Quicken/QuickBooks/TurboTax user for many many years... makes keeping the records easy, all bank statements and credit card receipts are downloaded and categorized to 1040 and Sched. C lines... plug in the figures and you're done... plus downloading means little falls through the cracks... nothing is perfect, but this is close...
What's great about it: QuickBooks and Turbo Tax make records and filing easy.
What's not so great: none I can think of...

TurboTax is Addictive

Been using TurboTax for decades. Good product - not a continually improving evolution though stable enough. The step-by-step is helpful but cumbersome. Hints and more info are also helpful but presentation not stellar. I expect to remain a loyal customer for life.
What's great about it: Initially simple, subsequent years easier
What's not so great: Step-by-step entering & exiting
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Super Easy and Safe

It's a great program to use because it makes it so I can't forget anything important that should appear in my tax return. It's the best guide there is! It also makes it so much easier to do the state tax because it's already half filled in. I especially have to admire how it finds last year's taxes that I've saved hidden away on a separate hard drive. Just another thing that makes it so much easier to use. I've never, ever had a hang up with it and I've used it for years. Actually don't know what I'd do if it stopped being there for me.
What's great about it: Can't forget anything
