Easing the Pain

Very favorable except in one area. Some employers pay employees to purchase and insure an auto used for business as well as mileage for business use. This may be paid on a 1099 Misc. in Box 7, Non-employee compensation (even though the individual is an employee). Turbo Tax assumes the recipient is therefore a business owner. This is not necessarily true and that requires the taxpayer to work around the situation. to get the desired results. The 1099 Misc. is essentially a reimbursement for auto expense incurred by employee.
What's great about it: Ease of use; continuous refund/payment amounts
What's not so great: Awkward 1099 Misc processing

Turbo tax review

Being able to follow your guidelines or doing it myself is great. Importing from last years records makes it easy to set everything up. Also being able to import income makes it easy also. I can't find anything bad to say about it. Makes doing a distasteful chore bearable.
What's great about it: This software is by far the easiest to use of any that I have previewed.
What's not so great: I don't have any.

I couldn't do my taxes today without TurboTax, the IRS forms and worksheets and instructions are not intuitively obvious. The questionnaire gets repetitive and tedious, but it has to be to gather all of the necessary information. I feel confident that my return is correct when I prepare it with TurboTax
What's great about it: thorough, easy to follow approach
What's not so great: correctionson forms required during the review cycle can be confusing. Product and e-file are expensive

Made it All Easy

This was my first time using turbotax and I was so surprised at how easy it was. It saved me a great deal of time. Areas I didn"t understand it made clear through popups. I would definitely use this over and over again through the years.
What's great about it: It made it so easy to follow, and I loved how it kept updating me on tax owed refund etc...
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Method to the Madness lets me sleep in the weeks between filing and receiving my refund
What's great about it: Pick up where you left off easily. All the forms are here, no more dashes for new forms
What's not so great: education credit was a bit difficult to remove wrong entries, but just a little hard

So Super Easy

I have been using Turbo Tax for years... why use anything else? Why pay someone else? Why use paper forms?
This is so easy, simple, fast!
What's great about it: Easy, simple, why would anyone use paper forms?
What's not so great: nothing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
