Fantastic phone support - helped me find my error

Second year with Turbo tax and I really like it. It's easy to use and I have much more confidence in my returns than when I used the paper forms.
I called for over the phone help and Ellen was extremely helpful and patient stepping me through various areas until we found the source of my error (I had missed designating my pension distribution properly).
Great product!
What's great about it: Step-by step is easy to use
What's not so great: none - don't change a thing

Interface is harder to use

Seems the TT2012 is more designed to the 'canned' guidance in getting through the filing preparation, and seems harder to figure out how to 'go' to a specific item on the return.
What's great about it: Great help for tax preparation
What's not so great: Seems harder to interface with forms than in the past

Frustrating

I have no confidence my taxes were prepared properly. After adding my "home office" deduction, which TT indicated was more than $8,000 the taxes owed did not drop a penny for either federal or state. I am going to re-do my taxes from the start to see if this is in fact correct. Will probably not use TT again next year if my suspicions are confirmed.
What's great about it: Imported data from last year and from my financial institution
What's not so great: No "search" feature

your product blows away are the other tax prep software. i used turbotax several years ago, but then switched to other brands (because they were cheaper). well, you get what you pay for. i was very disappointed with their confusing explanations & examples. in fact last year irs contacted me about an inconsistency and i ended up having to pay them for the error. turbotax is thorough and intuitive; it's simple and it asks the right question and gives the right explanations. i'm back to turbotax and i'm here to stay. thanks turbotax.

Wouldn't dream of filling taxes without it!

I would not dream of filling my taxes without using Turbotax. I was reluctant at first (quite a few years ago) to give control to a piece of software, but it has been a very rewarding decision. My taxes used to take days to complete and I was always afraid that they may have a mistake or that I may have overlooked something to my detriment or even advantage. With Turbotax, I do my taxes in a day (although my return is not a simple one) and I have full confidence that they are correct. Moreover, the fact that the software carries over information from one year's filling to the next year, guarantees that I don't have to spend time entering the same information over and over again (with possible mistakes) and even sometimes reminds me of missing data (such as an entry that I had in last year's return reminds me of an investment that I had forgotten). Finally, the software is user friendly and intuitive and, when one wants, can teach the user a bit more about taxes every time they file.
All in all, a terrific product!
