Turbotax can be very quick if you have done this in the past and you can import information from previous years.
What's great about it: relatively quick

Did three individuals taxes over a couple of days only mistakes were my own and were correctable. Had a satifying expierience.
What's great about it: Gave accurate description of each leg of the journey was quick and easy
What's not so great: Having to back out to fix things instead of being able to work on multiples at once would be annoying at times.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

i wish there was more explaination help with dependents who claim themselfs and how to claim if still going to school and living at home and supporting them

Tax accounts were very helpful and supplied all the information I needed to submit my tax refund. The downside was all the issues in calculations that had to be fixed mid-tax season after numerous people had already filed their returns, even though these issues did not affect me, they could have if I filed differently.
What's great about it: Knowledgeable tax accountants available for chat or call.
What's not so great: 2012 return had numerous calculation issues found mid-tax season

I have been using TTax for at least a decade and find the software intuitive. The questiaire is thorough and topics are addressed in plain English. However, each year there are specific topics I try to learn more about while in my return and frankly find better answers on GOOGLE. All said, this software offers anybody the opportunity to DIY and feel confident that your returns will be filed accurately. Thanks TTax.
What's great about it: Ease of use, familarity, thoroughness
What's not so great: Repetitive, hate opening screen re: form, limited search ability

This is my several-eth year of using T.T. I find it to be useful and easy to use. I appreciate that I can toggle between the screen form and an image of the paper form. Not being a trained tax lawyer I appreciate that the program will explain what and why I can add and deduct, plus keeping the entries for reference even if they don't count towards a deduction.
My 3 complaints this year are, first, every time I try to access the state form, I got a window that states my payment time has expired, try again; 'Try try again' never succeeded. Second, adding donated items in It's Deductible was cumbersome when I wanted to go back and examine what I had already added. Third, during ERROR CHECK brought up a tiny window showing the line on the form; I would have liked a bigger window.
Overall I am happy with the program and intend to use it next year.
What's great about it: Wizard Walked Me Through
What's not so great: Cumbersome BACK feature when itemizing; can not download state tax

I am not an accountant and found it very easy to follow the directions. I like the guided approach.
What's great about it: Quick and easy to understand instructions; liked being able to schedule payment for a later date
What's not so great: Owed money but not your fault

I love using this software, it makes it so easy to fill out all the forms I need. And if there is something I need help with there is someone always there to help me.
What's great about it: Was easy to use.
What's not so great: There was nothing I did not like.
