What's great about it: walked me through everything

2012 Return

For anyone considering to do their own tax return as opposed to going to a CPA, this is the way to go. I even had a friend that was a CPA and he said that this software is basically identical to what he uses. It is very easy to follow. Even if you only feel like entering a little bit each day, it will save your information and you can just jump right back in where you left off the next time you get back to it. This is now the 5th year that I have used Turbo Tax and I wouldn't think of using any other tax software but this.
What's great about it: Easy step by step directions with clear and concise choices on how to proceed
What's not so great: None that I can think of

I was very satisfied with my filing experience this year. The program was very easy to use (almost dummy-proof!). I have used the program for several years and always come back because of how easy it is to get my refunds. The program asks questions I wouldn't have thought to ask and finds me the best option when more than one will work. The explanations about the choices the program makes are clear and easy to understand but not forced - you can always pick the option you want rather than what the program says if you like. I always use the "walk me through it" features and I love them!
What's great about it: TurboTax was very easy to use and this year I will get the largest refund I've ever had!!
What's not so great: Searching for specific forms (outside the norm) was a little annoying, but easy to find once I figured out how to do it.

The 2012 version of Ttax really shows how you listened to the customers --- all the irritating quirks and features from the past have been streamlined, and the menus have improved.
What's great about it: streamlined shortcuts and ability to avoid 'advice' when not wanted
What's not so great: not too much, much improved over the years.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
