Not bad

Can be difficult at times to go back and look at one particular section; not intuitive to find where to go and program is always eager to move to the next step.
What's great about it: Easy wizard-like format
What's not so great: Not the most intuitive
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Turbo Tax 2012 Federal and State

Turbo Tax makes taxes much easier than sitting and filling out tax forms line by line and this is my preferred method. Because the software asks a lot of questions to try to get the best return, it would save the user time to just do a comparison of the previous year to current and ask if anything has changed which will allow you to make additional deductions that you did not in the past. Example, I have no children, educational, expenses, etc.. put everything you typically say no to all on one page, and ask if you have a change. I think a lot can be decided with a list like the Family Life section below in this survey.
What's great about it: Asks questions and fills out forms
What's not so great: Should allow a faster way for items that you cannot deduct
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Simple and clean

The only problem I had with this years TT was that the married but filing jointly section needs to be made as easy as the others! Otherwise great product!

What's not so great: Need to upgrade how the married but filing jointly is implemented

Woot! Maxed out my refund!!

I am a college graduate student and I don't have a lot of time and money to prep my taxes. TurboTax helped me finish my taxes really, really fast (today is 4/11 and I just picked up my W2 from my university job today because they didn't mail it to me). Anyway, this is the second year I have used TurboTax and I very happy with it. I can see myself using TurboTax for the foreseeable future. Thanks guys! Keep up the great work!
What's great about it: Very easy to follow, refund gauge was fun to watch, quick, and thorough

fast and simple

It was pretty easy to use the program. It was good that I could do it at 10 o'clock at night in the comfort of my own home. I thought it would be harder but it wasn't. Just make sure you have all your paper work with you.
What's great about it: fast easy and in the comfort of your home
What's not so great: not an expert

Can't live without it

I really hate this time of year because most on the tax information is complicated and confusing. I wish they would just do a national sales tax and be done with it. Put they don't. Turbo Tax always gets me through. The interview process just zips you along and before you know it your finished. Tension drains from my body and I can breath with relief. If it weren't for Turbo Tax I think I'd be in jail for tax evasion. I use it every year and have yet to be disappointed.
What's great about it: Easy, understandable, great technical material, support answers can be trusted
What's not so great: I would loose my place when I would need to go to a page that answered my question
