Great product, couldn't do it without it

Turbotax is an essential part of doing your taxes these days. A generation ago people would spend a week doing their taxes, and now it takes a couple hours (or less if you have an EZ return). Let the experts do the hard work for you.
What's great about it: Handles odd tax situations
What's not so great: Have to pay for State efile
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Can't do without Turbo Tax

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years and don't know what I would do without it. It keeps improving the smoothness and flawless way it goes about helping you right along. From the very beginning to the very end you cannot beat it.
What's great about it: always transfers previous year automatically, takes you step by step.
What's not so great: none

2012 Turbo Tax Issues

Was unable to get help for Error 4 - Unable to save tax return. I was unable to save my file to do edits and could not e-file. Overall Turbox Tax was ok. This is the first year I had this problem.
What's great about it: Good tool Easy to understand
What's not so great: Did not allow me to save by file or e-file

Importing of past years information is helpful, brokerage import worked this year better than last few years but still not all of brokerage data would transmit
What's great about it: Easy to fill out and ability to compare on "Form View"

Awesome tool. I won't use anything else. I love how it pulls in the prior year numbers in places that most of us wouldn't know how to include and calculate. It'd be nice if there are any new forms, that they are listed, say at the start of the process and described, like Form 8379---Is this new? Just when I thought we were all done.... this popped in as being required, but upon review, not required. But, it's always good to learn new things! Thanks Turbo Tax!!
What's great about it: Won't file unless all is complete, nothing is missed
What's not so great: I wish the font could be changed to Century Gothic, uses up to 40% LESS Ink. (Did you know that?, Shrink option to 80%

K1 from kinder morgan show how data should be entered and the forms on which the data is entered. difficult to do this and I am not sure all the forms are generated to match their
instructions. Biggest problem was with foreign country tax handling.

awesome taxing event

Great product. I used to do my taxes by hand, then switched to a typewriter. Photocopied my forms, then would send out by snail mail. Now of course it is much easier in the 21st century!
What's great about it: thorough; checks all refund crevaces!
What's not so great: it's never fun to do taxes!

Good Product

TurboTax is a great tool for the average household. They walk you through all the categories and have helpful tools to improve your return. The only Con is the upgrade versions. If you have your own business or any special circumstances, you should upgrade to the expensive versions to ensure the best tax return.
