I like this tax program

Turbo Tax is a very helpful in doing taxes. I like that you can choose to take the guided path or explore on your own. The questions are very good to help fill in the forms. I also like that you can import information and that it compares last years to this years.
What's great about it: like the review for errors
What's not so great: Filing the state taxes is not free
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I am a phobic at tax time and TurboTax is like an old friend that calms me down every year at tax time. Been using TT since 2009 and have never regretted the choice.
What's great about it: Thorough, User-Friendly, Intuitive
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

First time user but was very pleased on how it guided you in each area. Plain language explanations next to unfamiliar terms helped immensely.
What's great about it: Items were explained in plain language, easy to understand
What's not so great: better instructions on mortage area if one has a primary loan and then a secondary loan

turbo tax review

I can't imagine doing my taxes without turbo tax. I like to be able to jump around or follow the guided procedure. I like the error check. The program seems to be getting slower, even on my intel i7 computer.
What's great about it: Everything I need to do my taxes
What's not so great: Rather slow at times - even on a fast computer

I have been using turbo tax since you bought thatneat tax software company in Iowa. Turbo is a down grade, but the best out there. I thought turbo tax was above trying to sell the junk at the end of the program. It is hard to print the state tax with out printing the federal. My problems this year maybe window 8 rather than turbo tax.
What's great about it: Great when it ask the right question
What's not so great: I do not likethe spam spam. It will not do what you want it to do like printing only the state.

thorough and complete

The thoroughness of the questioning and the guidance is impressive. I work in corporate tax, so much of my experience with individual tax has dwindled. The questions combined with the input screens and the availability of help really made me feel like I wasn't overlooking anything. Some of the repetitiveness was exhausting. In the schedule D input, I had a number of transactions that had to be input manually. I would have preferred to be able to select special situations rather than say no to each and every one. That is a small matter compared to not missing anything, so the pros outweighed the cons by far.
What's great about it: Did not miss any important details. The questions keep you on track.
What's not so great: Sometimes too many repetitive questions are asked
