Completing the federal return is very easy to do. The state return seemed kind of hacked together. One of the names of a dividend payer was too long. This was caught in the review of the state return. But trying to edit the name of the dividend payer on the state form proved quite challenging. The font for the data was quite small. The form seemed designed to edit the numbers on the form but not the text of the names on the form.
What's great about it: Federal is very good.
What's not so great: State return is so-so.

Iowa Vehicle registration calculation is flawed - again.
fed return requests the deductible amount (so I must look up calculation online, then enter deductible amt)
IA form does the calculation - but you CAN'T enter the total registration fee, it pulls the deductible amt from the fed return.

Excellent product overall.
What's great about it: Ease of filing; walk-through of all areas
What's not so great: Tried to delete a worksheet I had started but could not; would not allow me to e-file without it;had to start new return

Have used turbo tax at least the last4 years. I love that it retrieves my information from the year before tax return.

Best tax software

The best thing I like about Turbo Tax is that it is able to migrate previous year tax return data automatically. Such as Employer data ,taxes paid and charity organizations.
What's great about it: Easy to do itemized deductions
What's not so great: nada one

using turbo tax is so easy. I dont have to know anything about tax codes or rules, I dont even have to know what paperwoork to have because the computer lets you know what you need. plus i can work on my taxes at my own pace, on the day i want, and at the time i want.

e-mail troubles

Three attempts at e-filing failed. The reasons gave pertained to Zip Codes providers on 1099-R forms. I have 12 1099-R accounts. I checked them all very carefully but could find no answers. The rejection notices did not tell me which 1099-R forms were defective or how they could be corrected.
In desperation I am filing by mail. The "quick and easy" claims for filing by e-mail are not valid.
What's great about it: Very easy to enter data on forms transmitted from previous years.
What's not so great: Three attemmpts at e-filing failed. Stated errors were very vague.
