Good for experienced and neophyte

Even family members who are computer-illiterate, or computer-phobic can manage the question and answer format. As an accountant, I appreciate all the areas they address, and thoroughly. It gives me confidence, because I can rely on them to stay up-to-date. Sometimes, because I know what I need to do, I get frustrated with the quiestions and switch to forms, just to speed up the process a bit. Luckily, it's easy to switch back and forth.
What's great about it: Detailed, Hits everything one needs to maximize refund.
What's not so great: Sometimes TOO user friendly

a surprise every year

I have been using turbotax for many years and I like it. It holds up well in comparison to the professional software I use in my job with a tax prep firm. I have been on the automatic plan as long as it has been offered. However, I do not appreciate the basic changes that appear without any notification to return users. This year I was disappointed to find that the option to save a copy on a disc (that would be readable on a computer that did not have the program) has disappeared!
Now I can save a copy in pdf format through my printer but it is not the same. I feel that you should inform your automatically repeating customers of program changes before they actually download the program and prepare their tax returns.
What's great about it: information carries from year to year
What's not so great: program changes without notification are disappointing

Super Easy Refund

Turbo Tax has been our tax return service for several years now. It's nice to be able to do the taxes ourselves and not have to shell out a bunch of money to a CPA or tax service. The directions are easy to follow and the program has great helpful tips!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax directions are easy to use and the help tips were ver beneficial
What's not so great: None

OVERALL EXCELLENT JOB ASSISTING ME WITH MY TAXES. I HAVE BEEN USING TURBO TAX SINCE 2002. SOMETIMES A LITTLE GLITCH, BUT ALWAYS TAKEN CARE OF. THANKS

What's not so great: TURBO STATED A PROBLEM WITH NYS IT214 I NEVER PROCESSED INFO FOR THAT FORM

Could be a little better

I have completed my taxes and am getting a net refund. As I was doing this dreaded task I was a little miffed that I had to do 3 different returns entering the same information just to determine if was in our best interest weather to file married and seperate or jointly. Turns out seperate was the way to go. Would be nice if turbo tax could do that for ya. Better yet maybe make the tax code easier. should be a stinkin post card and done.
What's great about it: Easy to use as is currently
What's not so great: Does not give enough filing options for given situations

The Best

This was my 4th or 5th time using TT. I sat down this morning with the intention of doing a dry run of my 2012 taxes -- but TT is so easy to use that I just transmitted my returns. The setup is great -- it's not overly complex, it walks you through everything, and there is a WELCOME lack of CLUTTER on the screens.
What's great about it: Walks you through everything
What's not so great: None for a regular guy
