Excellent, deserves 5 stars. This was the fastest I ever did the returns. Going from item to item was seamless and quick, even the e-file process seemed faster then before. I have been using Turbo Tax for more than 5 years.
What's great about it: Fast and easy especially for us procrastinaters. connecting to previous years is very helpful.
What's not so great: could use a few videos for explanations.

Turbo Tax is very straight forward and should be renamed "Filing Taxes for Idiots". It is that easy to follow and covers all possible areas needed to get the best refund possible.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions with explanations
What's not so great: Explanations not in layment terms
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I appreciate being able to have a program that can be used conisistently every year with minimal changes (except improvements) and is relatively easy to navigate.
What's great about it: Ability to import most information from last year, easy use
What's not so great: state e-filing isn't free

Much better than Tax Year 2011 version
on April 11, 2013
Posted by: hdavid02
I think Tax Year 2012 software is much improved from last year's version. I thought certain details were missing, or at least, I was not sure how to get to the screens I needed in last year's version. Everything I expected was there this year. Most of my concern was with the NY State version of the software.
What's great about it: Simple to use, yet the detail I needed was there. Also, I liked the previous year return comparison.
What's not so great: None

Another year done with intuit products

I have been using TurboTax and Quicken since 1989. QuickBooks since 2004. I upgrade about every 3 years. I do review the imported data. I have not had any problems other than the fact that quicken does not match w2 forms but it beats doing taxes by hand or paying for a complex tax return.
What's great about it: imports previous years along with quicken and quickbooks
What's not so great: have to erase and modify W2 info imported by quickken
