I have used TurboTax for 10+ years. I file all of my families tax returns with it and I love the easiness to use. I have confidence in this product and will continue using it.

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. It is easy to use, and I appreciate how it tracks passive losses from year to year.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

No problem with VIBIR (local IRS) to date.
Like the possibility to toggle between entry interface and forms and being able to work/input info on either.
Also like the ability to explore alternative tax returns for different deduction alternatives (standard / itemized) as separate files for comparison.

Making a hardship a pleasure

I have used turbo tax for many years now and have kept coming back. Previously I did my taxes manually with a pencil and calculator, but that was before I was a married homeowner, let alone a parent. The first year in the house we had someone else do the taxes and we did not feel that we got the best return (pun intended) on our investment. For a few years after we used an accountant who was a family friend and were satisfied. When he retired, we decided that I should start trying to do them myself again. After all. it's only math. Long story short, after trying turbo tax, I have never looked back, or for a competing product. Keep in mind that if I am audited, I reserve the right to change my mind.
What's great about it: easy to follow steps, everything needed laid out clearly
What's not so great: no real cons, just seemed too detailed for my needs, though likely not everyones'

Why Use Anything Else?

Have used this product for many years. It is now to the point that it requires only minor adjustments, typcially caused by new IRS rules and interpretations. Especially appreciate the seamless transition between the step by step guidance and jumping to forms mode. The program is effective in rooting out every deduction, providing every required form, and making even the most complicated return manageable, maximizing refunds. The import feature, transfering all the information from the previous year's return, saves a tremendous amount of valuable time. Finally, the error checks keep one from even the most subtile mistakes. All in all, a most excellent program and product!
What's great about it: Simply the best ! Ease of use, accuracy, & complete.
What's not so great: Only the IRS could create so many forms!
