Grrrreat!

I'm grateful this exists, as last year I was divorced, worked in three different states, and started my own business.
What's great about it: quick, helpful, great refund

not working to eliminate "smart" irregularities

If not "allowed to write off Auto Registration Fees in MA, why should we fill this out.
What's not so great: Example - You have one primary residence (MA) but yet it still asks you to identify auto registration fees.

Too Much Useless Detail

On charities asks for details such as street address and ZIP which are not part of the required return. Also does not allow a refund to be put toward the April 15 Quarterly estimated.
For a complicated return handles items such as alternate minimum well.
What's great about it: Takes care of the math
What's not so great: Asks for useless data

Disappointed with Windows 8 incompatibility

With all new computers shipping with Windows 8, and no feedback on the support forums that TurboTax is incompatible, I was disappointed I had to call Intuit to get help. I was given codes to enter on-line but even that didn't work because the payment screens never prompted for the codes. I finally had to install on WinXP to get my returns done. That the bugs haven't been fixed by 2/17/2013 is extremely disappointing as I would expect this problem to take high priority.
Once I was installed on a compatible system, filling out the taxes was easy enough.
Unfortunately, I received some 1099-B forms late, after already filing the federal income taxes and I could find no means to prepare and submit a revised return.
What's great about it: Always easy to follow guided tour through tax forms
What's not so great: Should have been tested with Windows 8

Problems

For the second year TurboTax would not import information from my previous year's tax returns; it selected an incorrect filing status for one 2011 return and as a result I must file an amended return; it would not allow me to e-file a 2012 return. Trying to avoid another lengthy call with your representatives, I finally figured out that I had to remove the password protection option from TurboTax to allow the updates to take effect. Because my information is stored on TurboTax, I will continue to use it but am not happy with the extra time required.
What's great about it: Populated information on tax returns
What's not so great: Hours spent on phone with TurboTax

I have been using Turbo Tax for years without any problems. A great DIY tool.
