Pros and Cons

I had a difficult time trying to get the 1099R for TSP information to show up on the 1040 because I thought it would be added to the 1099R from an IRA amount and show up on line 11b of the 1040A. A little more clarity on that subject would be helpful.
What's great about it: Telephone Help was unusually good.
What's not so great: Very long wait for Telephone help.

2012 Review

Turbo Tax is great for someone who no extra income as is my case. I could do my taxes myself but this makes it easier to fill in the forms. I like being asked the questions so I do not miss anything thing. The simplicity of emailing the form into the IRS makes the filing very easy.
Getting the notification that my taxes have been filed and accepted gives me peace of mind.
What's great about it: I liked the way Turbo Tax led me through the process, and also allowed to to go back and review what I had done.
What's not so great: I had no problems installing or using Turbo Tax

Disappointed & Frustrated

My city return had to be done by hand, independent of the program. It would not read that I had paid taxes through payroll deductions all year long despite that information being entered into the W2 section. No abilitiy to edit the return for this information.
What's not so great: My city return was a mess, program was very poor

Automatic prompt
on April 11, 2013

Last year, TurboTax didn't prompt investment expense deduction as possible case for our return so that I assumed the IRS changed the rule not to be able to deduct. This year, it didn't prompt again, but I searched the topic and it showed up as it used to be. We were able to claim it this year, but last year, we missed it completely, a big part of pay more taxes instead of getting refunds. Once the tax filer has capital gain/loss claims, TurboTax should prompt us possible investment expense to maximize the return.
What's great about it: Generally provide great prompt to find out where we can claim the deduction
What's not so great: It does not prompt for investment expense deduction which it use to do
Pros: I bought or sold investments
